About Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that utilizes hypnosis to induce a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration in patients13. This altered state of consciousness allows individuals to become more open to suggestions, facilitating changes in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors3. Hypnotherapy works by communicating with the subconscious mind, which is responsible for many of our thought processes and behaviors1.
About Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)
Neurolinguistic Programming, developed in the 1970s, is a complementary approach that examines how our thoughts affect our behavior2. At Hypno4Life®, we incorporate NLP techniques into our practice to enhance communication with clients and help them communicate more effectively with themselves6. The combination of hypnotherapy and NLP can be particularly powerful in addressing various issues:
Anxiety and Stress: Both hypnotherapy and NLP techniques can help reduce anxiety levels and manage stress-related conditions12.
Phobias: NLP and hypnotherapy are often used in treating phobias, with NLP focusing on changing thought patterns and hypnotherapy accessing the subconscious to rewrite fear responses24.
Habit Changes: Hypnotherapy can be effective in modifying unwanted habits by suggesting new patterns to the subconscious mind1.
Personal Development: NLP techniques are useful for building skills such as public speaking, sales, negotiation, and leadership2.

What happens during a hypnotherapy session:
A typical hypnotherapy session is a collaborative process in which we help you achieve your goals through focused relaxation and suggestion. It begins with a 10-15 minute consultation to discuss goals, medical history, and concerns. We will then guide you into a deep relaxation state using techniques like progressive relaxation, visualization, and focused breathing. In this state, we’ll use tailored techniques, such as direct suggestions and guided imagery, to address the your goals. The session concludes with a gentle awakening. Sessions typically last 45-50 minutes, with most people seeing results within 3-4 sessions. Throughout the process, you remain in control. As therapists, we act as a guide to access the subconscious mind for beneficial change.
Book your sessionHypnotherapy and its scientific status
While many practitioners and clients report positive outcomes from hypnotherapy and NLP, it's important to note that scientific evidence supporting their efficacy is limited, and some researchers consider NLP to be pseudoscientific8. We’ve shared a list of articles below, that give an overview of different viewpoints towards this practice. In some countries hypnotherapy is officially recognized and covered by health insurers for treating addictions or anxieties. While in others, it could be outlawed for treating medical conditions.
As with any therapeutic approach, you should do your own research which approach seems the most suitable. In case of any medical conditions, always consult your doctor first.
For those interested in learning more about hypnotherapy and NLP, resources such as the Royal College of Psychiatrists3, Cleveland Clinic7, and reputable hypnotherapy directories6 offer additional background information and guidance, listed below.

How does an online session work?
An online hypnotherapy session takes between 45 to 60 minutes and can be booked through the website. During the booking process you can provide a short summary of the topic you like to cover. This allows us to utilize our time efficiently.
Session overview and induction process
If we'll see each other for the first time, we'll first have an intake call, during which we'll craft your hypnotherapy journey. Then, when the actual session starts, it’s time for the induction. You’ll be guided into a trance, where you’ll tap into your unconscious. Depending on your unique story, your unconscious mind will be guided on a journey to release certain blockages and adept new influences that will improve your life.
Aftercare and integration timing
You'll be guided back into your consciousness once your 'journey' is over. Usually, it takes a few hours or even days for the experience to settle. Patience is advised: with hypnosis, we work on a subconscious level; it may take a while before your conscious mind realized what's happened. For this reason, we won’t spend time on integration directly after the session. A separate call can be scheduled for that a few days later.

How does an in-person session work?
In-person sessions are offered in 2 locations in Berlin-Neukölln. In-person business hypnosis can also be booked in a location of your choice, in or close to Berlin.
Our practice rooms are designated for therapy sessions and will allow you to fully wind down and be receptive to the treatment that you'll receive. In-person hypnosis can be more effective than online hypnosis, as the hypnotherapist feels your energy better and can therefore better tailor the induction.

Are these thoughts holding you back?
If you can relate to any of this, what if I told you I could help you overcome these barriers? Let's talk.
